Shihan Tom Lloyd


Shihan Lloyd began studying Isshinryu Karate in  1990 under Hanshi Brian Fitzgerald and Shihan Dave Heirl.  He is an avid student of Isshinryu Karate and has been the Head Instructor at both the Branchburg and  Readington programs for over 10 years. On September 18, 2014 he was promoted to Nanadan (7th Degree Black Belt) along with Shihan Tom Nowell and Shihan Dave Heirl.


Shihan Lloyd has been inducted into the Hall of Fame for Outstanding Contribution to the Martial Arts, Instructor of the Year and Visionary Martial Artist.

He served as the Treasurer of American Isshinryu, Inc., a 501(c)(3), Non-Profit Corporation, for 6 years, from 2009-2015. AI was established in 2009 and works toward the betterment of Isshinryu through educational functions.
